What Will Void a Missouri Title

Where to Sign a Missouri Title
Sign on the back of the title where it is labeled “Signature(s) of All Seller(s)”.
Print your name directly below where it reads “Hand Printed Name(s) by Seller(s)”.
Do not sign anywhere else unless instructed by the Missouri Department of Revenue.

If more than one owner is listed on the Missouri title, all listed owners must sign to complete the transfer.
Titles Showing a Lienholder
If a lienholder is listed on the title, the lien must be released before ownership can be transferred.

Without a lien release, the Missouri DOR will not process the title transfer.
Replacing a Lost or Damaged Missouri Title
If your Missouri title is lost, stolen, damaged, or voided, you must obtain a duplicate before selling the vehicle.

After Selling Your Vehicle in Missouri
Once the sale is complete, remove your license plates before releasing the vehicle.
